Winona McCoy Hendrix
Augusta – Winona McCoy Hendrix, 87, wife of the late Fred Tyler Hendrix, Sr, entered into rest Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation. Graveside services will be held Monday, September 21, 2020, at 2:00 PM from Hillcrest Memorial Park with Chaplain Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside and to abide by CDC recommendations for social distancing and mask wearing.
Mrs. Hendrix, daughter of the late Ruth Parker McCoy and Albert McCoy, was born in Avera, GA, and was an office manager with the Augusta Richmond County Fire Department. She was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Chavous. She is survived by her children, Sandra Hendrix Owens, of Augusta, and Ty Hendrix (Della), of Grovetown; her grandchildren, Palmer Owens, Mary Arnold (Dylan), Tyler Owens, and Bekki Hall (Aaron); her great grandchildren, Jameson Arnold, Hendrix Arnold, Tanner Hall, and Emmie Hall; her siblings, Ellen Dismuke, Thomas McCoy (Ruth), and James McCoy (Jean); her brother in law, Mack Chavous; and several nieces and nephews.
