Willeana McCoy

Augusta, GA – Willeana McCoy, 83, wife of Lawrence McCoy, entered into rest Monday, August 3, 2022.

She was the daughter of the late Marie Sheppard Williams and George Williams, she was born in Louisville, GA.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM, from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend John Kilpatrick officiating.

Mrs. McCoy was retired from Belk, where she was Office Manager. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her brothers, Barton Williams, Owen Williams, and Murray Williams.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Mark W. McCoy; her grandchildren, Christy Riley, Crystal L Lewellyn, and Wayne McCoy; her 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild; and her siblings, Frances Hillman, and Marie McGhee.

Family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM, on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at the funeral home.

  1. Mark, I am so very sorry about Aunt Willena. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Uncle Lawrence and all of your family. She was a really good, generous woman. I always enjoyed her sense of humor and enjoyed the time I spent with her, which, of course, was not enough. I’m sorry I can’t be there Monday, but if there is anything I can do for you all, please do not hesitate to let me know. I love y’all.
