Rosa Hemrick Marks
Hephzibah, GA – Rosa Hemrick Marks, beloved wife of William W. “Buddy” Marks, entered into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 81 years old at University Hospital.
Born on June 18, 1939, she was the daughter of the late George Frank and Mattie Shaw Hemrick. She married her best friend and high school sweetheart on November 23, 1957. Rosa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a devoted member of Hopeful Baptist Church, where she honored the Lord by playing piano and serving in the AWANA program. She was active in her Sunday School class and a member of the Lighthouse Ladies. She also taught Sunday School. Rosa and her husband owned and operated Marks Clearing and Grading.
Rosa had a servant’s heart. She provided meals to those in need and found joy in serving others. Rosa enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her family. She found her greatest joy in knowing her children and grandchildren knew the Lord Jesus as their Savior. She was a mama to all and was loved by all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.
Rosa is survived by her loving husband, William W. “Buddy” Marks; children, Bill (Janet) Marks, Anne (Derek) Partridge, Joy (John) Osborn; grandchildren John (Candi) Partridge, Amanda (John) Brookins, Heather (Joseph) Otwell, Ryan (Morgan) Marks, Madison Osborn, Jed Osborn, and Alli Anne Osborn; as well as eleven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Partridge, John Brookins, Ryan Marks, Joseph Otwell, Jimmy Neville, Jr., Mark Neville, and Todd Neville. Honorary pallbearers are Jed Osborn, Trent Marks, and Ricky Thompson.
A graveside service will be held at the Hephzibah-Vance Cemetery on Sunday January 10, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Greg Glover officiating. Family and friends should assemble at the graveside. Masks and social distancing are requested.
