Augusta, GA  – Pauline Burns, 86, wife of the late Robert James Burns, entered into rest Saturday, September 18, 2021.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at  12:00 noon from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Burns, daughter of the late Jennie Stopa Gullet and Ray Gullet, was born in Dearborn, MI. She was a homemaker and had been a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for almost 60 years. She loved volunteering at church and helping wherever she could.

She loved to read and learn new things, and loved to travel and explore new places. She was a devoted mother to her children and was always willing to help when she could. After raising her children she went back to college and earned a Bachelors degree in psychology. 

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Haleigh Grace Gay; and by her grandson, Kyle Curtis.

She is survived by her children, Cathy Gay (Andy), Robert Burns (Kathie), Bruce A. Burns, and Denise Vaughn (Allen); her grandchildren, Jason Gay (Jennifer), Nicole Jordan (Travis), Timothy Burns (Lydia), Michael Burns, Sean M. Burns, Christopher Vaughn, Brittany Vaughn, and Ryan Vaughn; her great grandchild, Rosie Burns; and her sister, Nancy Gullett.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
