Obie Ervin Skillman
Augusta, GA – Obie Ervin Skillman, 75, husband of the late Francis Louise Taylor Skillman, entered into rest Tuesday August 3, 2021, at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Downtown Augusta.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 8, 2021, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors with Reverend Richard Nevard officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Skillman, son of the late Obie Skillman and Grace Newman Skillman, was born in Augusta, GA. He served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Conagra in 2007, and enjoyed spending
time with Sandra, doing household projects, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Skillman, and his sister, Thelma Duncan Bridges.
Survivors include his children Lynn Skillman, Renee Skillman-Jobo (Bryan), Donnie Skillman, Janet Frazier (Russell), and Becky Wyles, nine grandchildren, his loving partner of eleven years, Sandra Edwards, and his sister, Hester Amerson.
Pallbearers will be Derek Touchstone, Russell Frazier, Dalton James, Alex Wyles, Noah Wyles, and Bryan Jobo.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.
