Augusta, GA – Martha D. Rice, 89, entered into rest Friday, March 5, 2021, after a short illness, at her residence.

The family will be attending Mass at 12:15 PM Tuesday, March 9^th, 2021, at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 10^th, 2021, at Summerville Cemetery.

Martha, daughter of the late Sarah Ahern Durden and Russell Durden, was born in Augusta, GA, and attended Tubman High School. She enjoyed playing bridge with good friends and attended St. Joseph’s chapel where she helped set up chapel daily. She also attended St. Mary’s Church. She was employed with Bobby Jones Ford for over 20 years, where she had many duties. She enjoyed reading and was an avid cat lover.

She married Maury Rice with whom she had four children, David (Patti), Drew, Cathy, and Terri. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Megan Rice Hand (Richard), Kyle (Taylor), and Zach; and five great grandchildren.
