John Edward Whitener Jr.

Hephzibah, GA – John Edward Whitener Jr., 62, entered into rest Tuesday, August 23, 2022. He was the son of the late Christy Bell Chavous Whitener and John Edward Whitener Sr., he was born in Augusta, GA.

Family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 o’clock on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors.

Mr. Whitener was retired from Two-State Construction Company. He graduated from Hephzibah High School in 1978. 

He is survived by his sons, John Edward Whitener III, Joshua Roger Whitener; his sisters, Wanda Evans and Jan Brinkman; his cousin, Allen Whitener and many other cousins; his special aunts, June Whitener and Lee Ellen Carroll; his significant other, Susan Stephens; his best friend, Razor.

I Have Never Forgot about, and I Will Never Forget, John. It has been So many years ago that I told him, I Love You John and He knew that I did. He Definitely is an Angel

In the summer when it would be to hot to ride horses during the day we would ride all night and go all over Augusta I got a picture of John and I at the municipal building on green st. We had the horses on the steps you will be missed my friend R. I. P.
