The service on Monday has been changed to a private graveside service.Hephzibah, GA – Christine Gantt, 80, wife of Douglas Gantt, entered into rest Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Doctors Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 15, 2021, at 11:00 AM from Journey Community Church, 4798 Hardy McManus Rd, Evans, with John Strickland officiating. She will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
Per CDC recommendations during the pandemic, guests are asked to wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
Mrs. Gantt, daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Seagroves Wood and Eddie Webster Wood, was born in Moncure, NC. She retired from Kendall Company where she worked as a team leader. She was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church, and was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Mark Hodges; her grandson, Justin Hodges; her brother, Thomas Wood; and the father of her children, Joe Robert Hodges, Sr.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Joey Hodges (Tammy), and Tina Hodges Sidener (Lee); her stepson, Christopher Gantt; her grandchildren, Coty Hodges, Johnathan Sidener, Aaron Hodges, Kayla Sidener, and Stephen Hodges; her great grandchildren, Cali Hodges, Mia Hodges, and Madelyn Sidener; her sisters, Linda Taylor, and Joyce Bridges; her stepdaughter, Tonya Gantt (Anthony); her stepson, Travis Gantt (Amy); her stepgrandchildren, Brandon and Daniel Brown, and Aaron and Easton Gantt; and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved so much.
